Plena Libre, the iconic, GRAMMY-nominated Puerto Rican group, has released its new album Legado on double vinyl and compact disc!

This heartfelt tribute celebrating the legacy of their late founder, the composer, arranger, and producer Gary Núñez, under the artistic direction of his son, LuisGa Núñez, includes 14 songs with an all-star cast from the Puerto Rican music scene, including Gilberto Santa Rosa, Elvis Crespo, La India, Milly Quezada, Jeremy Bosch, Norbert Vélez, and David Rivera alongside Plena Libre’s three vocalists singing in lush three-part harmonies—with an aggressive, tight, yet sensitive style that brings balance with the past and present. “Legado retraces Plena Libre’s three decades of history and honors the musical identity of my father, Gary Núñez,” says LuisGa. “I want to offer this album as eternal proof of the various dimensions of what Plena can sound like. It can be love, pain, party, joy, protest, vacilón, grief…we can recite poetry on top of it.”

Plena Libre presents a captivating performance that fuses well-loved Puerto Rican traditions with modern Afro-Caribbean influences, putting a new and always electrifying spin on this scintillating music.
